"ice in" was just declared the other day, didnt say "safe" ice, just now the whole lake is covered..as much as I like ice fishing I would much rather troll..

I’m already buying gear for trolling... I’ll be chasing a salmon 4/1 one way or another

When do you think A-Bay will be out to Sandy Pt? Echo? ::)

I drag pretty much exactly what Dan puts out but I do put my ugly sticks on my downriggers too. I have a mix of reels: Shimano, Penn but mostly Okuma cold waters. Each has its pluses and minus...my only problem with my cold waters is the vibration during trolling loosens the start drag on a few of them so I have to check on them every now and then.

As for Alton Bay...I really miss the webcams they used to point at the bay from the now-closed Realty place. Now I have to rely 100% on people driving by and reporting or me taking rides up there (not that its a bad thing if the temps are warm enough to fire up the Harley). I don't fish AB much once the lake reaches close to ice out because its busier than I like to be at that location...it can fish "very small" once the parking lot fills.
