Nice work Jon. I only had a small window to fish so stayed up my way. Got my biggest rainbow so far this year. Caddis has been the key up here. Tons of cased caddis on the rocks.

I've been seeing a lot of cased caddies bear me as well.

I've been seeing a lot of cased caddies bear me as well.

They seem much more prevalent in freestones this time of year.  The ones on the westfield have a tan body with dark brown or black head but on the farmy they seem much more green.  Swift and Farmy tailwaters it seems to be scuds, midges and few mayfly nymphs that are around now.  Jon would know better about the Farmy, I haven't been down there in over a month.

Our cased caddis came in heavy about a month ago.   Recently I've been fishing the hendrickson hatch.

This morning was a bit slower than yesterday.  Water dropped quickly after the storms.

Cool to see the color variations in those browns, it’s crazy how different they can look

The lighter one was stocked the bottom one was wild.  Ill try to take a pic of the elastomer they put in the stockies next time I am out.

After healing (most of the way) from a nearly accident last Monday I hit the Farmington from 5am to 12.  Had a guest approach from Pat which was fun.  5 to 9 am I was already approaching 30 caught and released, a majority being rainbows.  Mixed in a few browns and brookies.  Caddis were hatching all morning so a caddis nymph helped me average 10 or so trout an hour!

Glad to hear you're on the mend, and that the fish are biting.

Nice catching up Jon.  That euro rig sure does crush.  No luck in the evening up in the gorge.  The water is already running much lower than I'd like.
