Ice fishing was over,  I am looking forward to open water fishing.

Well I think a guy should keep his ice rods close for may 5 I am thinking we may need em come opening day

Sounds like deif still has lots of ice, that's where I'll be on the 5th.

Very possible the first day will be on hard water.

planning on hitting the lml for opening day on the ice ... i never broke 20 lb mark this ice season closeish with a 16lb on 4lb perch rod.... so with any luck i can find one big ol pike  prespawn so i can in a way hit 20 lb this ice season. this year sucked for big pike but did awesome for c&r big eyes

There is a large area off Sorensen's Beach where there is open water at LML. I would think that within the next day or two the ice would all be gone if the weather predictions are right.
