Title: Looking for some Flounder w/ the Grandson
Post by: stripernut on Jun 06, 2022, 07:40 AM
We towed the boat down to the North Shore for some Winter Flounder fishing with my Father, Will, my 7-year-old Grandson, and myself. It was an afternoon trip and the fishing was slow with my grandson getting one short flounder (he was very proud to be the only one to catch a fish) and countless crabs. Later as the tide dropped we got 2 just short fluke and 2 just short Seabass, not what we were expecting. I did land one keeper Winter Flounder, making for the worst numbers for us in years, fishing numbers-wise (not counting trips that were too early in the season). Best of all my Grandson had a great time and can't wait to go again. We did see only one Osprey (usually more), but we also saw a PEREGRINE FALCON, a bird I do not often get to see unless I am in the city. Sorry never did break out the camera, so no pics.

Sounds like a good trip.  Mine is finally done, need to grab it and get it into its slip!
