Title: Makeup Fishing
Post by: bogtrotter on Jun 12, 2022, 04:03 PM
To wash away the bad taste of my abysmal performance yesterday, I set aside an hour this afternoon to fish the Sout Hoosic in Adams.

The weather was overcast and 75 degrees.

I started by Mullen Mayflower and ended up by Elm Rock.

Fortunately, the fishing gods smiled on me - - and I ended up with five rainbows, ironically in ascending size as I wet-waded downstream: i.e., one 13" (by Mullen Mayflower), two 15" (one just above the footbridge and one at Old Stone Mill), one 16" (just above the small roll dam) and one 17" (at Elm Rock).

Heck of a day Jim.  How the water levels doing?  I've been out of town and itching to get out but may have to head toward Jon for cooler water.

How the water levels doing?

The stream levels were just a tad low on the South Hoosic in Adams, but not too bad.'

Ditto the Main Branch of the Hoosic in Pownal the day before.

But the Walloomsac in Bennington was noticeably down.

It's funny how much water levels can vary on different streams in the same region.
