Title: Mooo!
Post by: lowaccord66 on Aug 01, 2022, 11:18 AM
Went deep for big bass.  9pm to 2am hooking up every drift.  No weights and measures, just horsing in and fast release.

Thanks everyone!  We tried this trip 2 weeks ago and some guy dropped his keys in the drink at the fuel dock and that was the end of the trip!

Should get a few more stabs at them.

Boom! The bite has been insane. They are biting there all day as well. There is so many right now that they are spread out all the way to the east end. We were pulling up chubs and they were right behind them. Just an FYI in the event your also chasing fluke.

Last night was a wash.  Big storms popped up and looked bad on radar.  Played it safe.  Fueled up, cleaned the slime off my eel box, cleaned the boat, had a great lobster roll and went home.  Tonight is glass so the plan is quick montauk stop for fluke then off to bass land.

John , Cows for sure. You don’t need a tape measure to see those are above the slot.

I was on Lake Michigan and big T-storms were moving in. No need for radar as you could see them along with lightning. Anyway I'm getting nervous and wanted to head in. Owner of the boat refused. He finally relented almost too late. I never went out with him again. He was a friend of my cousins. And the trip wasn't a freebee either. I paid dearly at least as much as a charter.

Are those fluke as good to eat as they look? I know I've had flounder and they are really nice white meat.

They are delicious. Deep fried, pan seared, grilled, poached and fresh as sushi.
