Does that mean that you think all the ice will be off by Saturday?  Last I heard, it wasn't looking good out at the Strap.
It'll open enough to fish from shore...and if we get a couple of good winds it might even be good for boats, but just barely

I've heard that the fishing can be pretty good at Craven just down stream of the fish ladder(you have to stay a certain distance either upstream or downstream because it is considered a dam).

eyefriendly, if the fish ladder is the structure a few miles west of Craven -  is closed February 28 to May 16 as part of the            Southern Zone          Special Regulations            Last Mountain Lake   in the Anglers' Guide. It took me awhile to figure this out ( thanks buzzbomb ) otherwise this is where my opening day was to be spent. Thinking about Condie Resivoir along Highway # 11.

Hi all,

For me my opening day on Sat. May 9th.
I though I would try some evening fishing.

Spot 1 yeilded no fish, so, after an hour I moved to spot 2.
I met a family coming in from fishing who said they hadn't even have a single bite all afternoon.
Not good news.

I too had poor luck, except for this little guy.

This would be my only catch of the day, lol.
Next time I hope they are alot bigger.

These two grebes decided to check and see if I had the right bait.

A final shot as the sun set.

Calmly Waiting For Opening Day
