I was given this rod today by my wifes Uncle. He said it was his grandfathers, and did not know much about it other then some cool old fishing stories.
As far as I can tell the rod is made completely of metal, it is a long telescoping rod but only has three eyelets. It looks like It may have been a fly rod, but is very heavy compared to todays standards
Cork handled and but end
the reel seat is metal as well as the rell lock
Here is a pic of the eyes, they all had red inserts, im told the one well off on the first trip, but he still used the rod his whole life.
I have not had a chance to measure the rods legth yet, but it well over 6ft. It has great whip to it for being an all metal body, and other then some make shirft solderind done to conver this rod for a close faced rel, it is in pretty good shape. I would love to learn more about it, if anyone has any info or suggestions on where to look, please let me know
thanx
