Does anybody have any experience with this reel?  Is it a good reel?

I don't have that model, but I have other Abus, and from my experience with them and looking at that reel, it definatley looks like a good reel to me. My .02 ;)

I have a C-3 and also have been looking at the 5600. I really like the Abus

If it's anything like the 5500 sprint, you'll love it.  I've had mine for 15 + years and it's still going strong.  IMO, Abu is one of the best.

i have a 4 5501-c3's and a 6501-c3, and besides being a bit heavy, they are tough as nails and will last for a LONG time.

The reason I was asking was I saw one on sale at the boat show for approx. 125$ but I have the chance to buy one off  friend for 75$.  He got it for his birthday and wanted something else.  I got my first abu last year and have been very impressed with it so far.  I think I'll take it off his hands ;D

I also have a 5501-c3 and love it.  This reel takes everything I've thrown at it, including salt water and freezing temps.  I also feel like I have more control with it than the low profile baitcasters, but that's more personal preference.  Though I haven't had a chance to use the D5, it has some great features, feels smooth and comfortable in the stores, and I'm sure the quality is excellent.

Awesome reels. I've got an older 6500 c-3 and it's great. Little small for springs but it gets the job done. My buddy's burned out so many 7000's on chinooks he uses them for paperweights. They're scattered all over his house holding things down. All the bearings burnt. It's painful to see. Great reels. Abu is the best.
