Does anyone know where you can still get replacement parts for the old mitchel reels ? After they discontinued the Mitchel reels the only places I have been able to find replacment parts is at gerage sales.

Raleigh, Here's a diagram and web site for parts.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

You're welcome,

Bird's has a good supply of old parts. If you can't find it or Reelguy doesn't have it , give them a call.

I've got a bag full of broken 301s and there's a 300 or 2 in there as well.  Is the pin interchangable?  (I think I hear  rgfixit coming)  Something as small as a bail pin could maybe be mailed?  I'm in Regina and the profile /pm location stuff is not working as far as I can tell.  I'll gladly give you one if I can figure out how.  I'm sure the profile ban is a temporary glitch.

Well the pm is not working again. Here is the parts I actuley need. 2 tapered pins and 1 screw. It is the tapered pin that the line rides on, and the screw that holds the pin in place.

Ok, the stuff went into the mail at about 3:30 pm Apr 1st.  How long will it take to go from Saskatchewan to Colorado?  My friend in the post office said 6-7 days, and the lady at the outlet post office where I mailed it says no way, it'll take 10 days.   Any bettors?  If it doesn't get there by the 8th it may be bound up in the Easter rush...that makes it the 13th?   It's kind of like having a racing pidgeon! ;D   I'm going to take the 8th at 3:25 pm.  Your letter carrier will probably be hurrying to get off early for the long weekend...R

i bought 1 a few years back at a garage sale. the reel seat had broken and he tried to weld it back together. it was ugly but worked. it also came with a new spool. the price you ask? 1 whole quarter!!!!!!!!! i still have it today somewhere, but its long since retired. at another sale, i came across 2 reels still in their boxes. i asked the lady how much? she quoted a price of 2 $ each. i gave her a $5 and said keep the change. not bad for a mitchell 308 and 300 reel i thought lol. just a few of my garage sales finds. i sold them at my own sale.

The 10th is a Saturday, Reuben, you'd best pick another.  :)
