My buddy jon nailed this monster today.  43 inches long, 33 inch girth....50lbs 13oz estimated weight.

pasquatch, the most conservative estimate puts it 9 ounces over the record...i have used some other equations that put that fish in the upper 50 range. :blink:  It came from a local flowage.

I just looked up the record, and you're right.
My dad knows the guy who caught the state record, says it wasn't quite as big as Jon's.

About a million bucks cool, if you could catch it at the WCC this summer.  That's what's waiting for anyone who breaks the current NY state record during competition at the World Carp Championship at Massena (sp?) this summer.  I think non-residents have to live in NY for a month or something to take the money, but it could be worse!    btw, that is one heck of a nice fish!  I got a 25.5 last night and thought I was doing all right.  They go to 50# where I fish too, so the opportunity is always there, but that's definately the fish of a lifetime!
