St Joe river

Just curious if anyones been steelheading,and what’s the river conditions like.Planning on going in the morning regardless.Hope the rain we got last night and today didn’t blow it out

River a little higher than I like for drifting but managed one hen about 10 lbs.She was all about spawned out.There was maybe a cup worth of eggs left in her.She’s going in my sons friends smoker!

Nice job!  I figured if anyone could wrangle some from the high water, it might be you.

Well what did all this 😡😡😡rain do the river level.It was a little higher than normal Sunday and now way up I’m sure.The only good to come from it will be some fresh chromers maybe FISH ON!

Was in Berrien Springs yesterday.  Drove by and it is high.  The Gravel bar to the east of the dam that is normal open is covered by water.

It was a cold but awesum day on the river today.Hooked 5 and landed 3.The river is way up and a tad bit to fast to land them if they decided to run back to the lake!

Another s teller day on the river.I hooked 7 and was only able to land 1,but a very nice male at that!

Heading up Tuesday for my last trip on the river there should still be some late spawners.If not still going to be a real nice day away from work!

The gravel was loaded with fish .I hooked 8 fish and managed to land one nice hen!

Can’t resist the temptation ,heading up to hopefully hook s few more .The run has been on fire this year and I just don’t want it to end but sadly eventually all good things come to an end.

The st Joe didn’t disappoint .The gravel was covered with steelhead.A mix of spawned out females and some fresh.A lot of dark males too.Hooked 10 and landed 3.What a run,hope next year is a repeat.Get on the river and get some while it’s hot!
