tips on launching at Merrymeeting
« on: Apr 08, 2022, 08:54 PM »
Hi all:

I know Winni just opened but I want to fish Merrymeeting Lake this weekend...first time open water there. I've read that trailer parking is slim and the ramp can be problematic if the water is low ie shallow humps nearby

I plan to arrive early, but should I have problem launching a 17' whaler?

thanks for any help in advance :) Tight lines to everyone getting out

I think you will be fine ..decent ramp and the parking is good for 5 to 7 I would say

And if you don’t get there before 5-7am you won’t be getting a spot. Just saying

I agree. I've had days where I catch 4 or 5 salmon or Lakers then go 2 months without a bite!!

Oh nice. Maybe they could open up the ramp in alton bay. As a resident it's been really wonderful just looking at a parking lot all winter and spring.  Locals can't use it. But im sure it'll be open for the out of state boaters this summer. What a fing waste!!!!

Is the state launch (Downings) not open yet??
