Black Flies are getting bad

(1/4) > >>

Johnnh:
I have a small pond and a brook on my land (south west of concord) and we border about 350 acres of forest with a couple more ponds and a small river. All good breeding grounds for black flies.

Our friends the black flies have been light for the past coule of years, but, they have come in thick this year. They are out in swarms and thirsty so yard work and stream fishing makes you itchy.
I fish a couple lakes in my area and once you get about 30 yds from shore the flys thin out

How are the flies in your areas?

Jethro:
Brutal. I was getting swarmed last night with them while doing yardwork. I have wetlands near me too, about 15 minutes Northwest of Concord.

AquaAssassin:
Same at my house but I’ll take it, they don’t seem to last long and there is nothing worse than mosquitos to me personally including ticks

Steve H.:
Wow, already, huh.  I figured every bug would come alive this weekend with the summer temps ahead.  At least I might find some dry fly action.

zwiggles:
I inhaled a few running an errand at lunch just now on the sea coast.
