Quick afternoon trip
« on: May 27, 2022, 01:11 PM »
I had a few hours I could steal and ran out to the Conn River in the Greenfield area, looking to see what would be hitting. After a lot of casting and not a single bump I ran back to the Millers river before it got too dark and hit a "pool" I had never fished before. Found the water was much warmer that I would have though for this time of yearly. So armed with a Rooster Tail I started whaling on smallies most small but a couple big enough to keep it existing on the ultra-light. I did land a very fat 18.5" rainbow from a deep pool with some fast water... If the wind had not been so bad I might have done some night time top water for the bass on the Q... So many fish, so little time.

Congratulations!

I've only fished the Millers a couple times (and didn't "do" anything on it either time), but I've heard a lot of good things about it.

An 18" rainbow is certainly a worthwhile specimen.

How big were the larger small mouth?

Barely 2lbs, the rainbow was heavier...
