I believe it is 8.5', but it's best to check the state website.

Seems like things are lining up perfectly for you Alan.  I had a couple of buddies get into tuna on spinning gear on the 4th and seems like the smaller tuna are around in decent numbers at the moment along with tons of bait.  Hopefully the wind/weather cooperates.

Were they South of the Vineyard or East of Chatham?

I'm not sure.  Tuna guys are pretty tight lipped.  I asked how far offshore they had to go and no response.

Well, I think on this trip, if we run offshore it will be off Chatham. Shorter run.

You will slay if they stay put.  I got a real nice update today from my buddy while we were picking up the boat.

Sunday was great fishing; stripers, fluke, and sea bass, we ended up with close to 20lbs of fillets, most fluke and sea bass. We are still working out some of the bugs in the new (to us) boat so we did not run further than the tip of Monomoy (the bass in the rips), but the top water and fly fishing for slot stripers were great. We spent time today working on the boat and would be out tomorrow but the wind and sea look terrible... Time to spend with the wife and get to stay married... Can not wait to run out for some tuna!

My Dad from the bean bag on the bow where he stayed most of the trip;

Here is Will photo bombing my sons Seabass pic;

With my Son and Will on board the laughter never stopped;

After a long day on the water I put together a meal for 10 hungry family members (stuffed Fluke);

Nice Allen! I caught some fluke, caught some blueshell crabs and then made my own stuffing and pink vodka sauce with fresh garden herbs and home made shine. Can't go wrong with stuffed fluke.

Lol. I love to fish, hunt, grow and pick but I really love putting it all together in the kitchen.

It was a great week on the Cape, we made it out Friday Morning to the Tuna fleet and only saw one possible hook-up, but the whale show was great. When we could get throw the mackerel and silver hake we picked up some haddock. After some tuna wishing, we went back to the rips and had a blast with the stripers, with Will losing a 40+" fish boat side I was below and my son was fighting a fish on the fly rod... He was disappointed, to say the least! We got the grandkids out and they loved all the sea bass action we put them on;
My older son and one of my grandsons;

One of many on the fly;

My older granddaughter;

Daughter-in-law;

The White Ninja (Will);

Dad with a fat one;

Tip of Monomoy heading out;

Ended up with 18 family (Will and his wife count as family) members in the house or staying nearby! My wife says I fished too much and I think not enough... I did promise next year it will be just the two of us, maybe Maritime Canada... Always have wanted to get to Labrador and Prince Edward Island.
Thanks for all the tips from everyone, I think the next big boat trip will be the North Shore for haddock, sharks, and tuna... I still have not gotten to try out my 14-weight fly rod!
