trolling worm harness with dipsy divers
« on: Jul 27, 2022, 06:18 AM »
What is your setup and how far back do you run them from the diver?
Any specific type of harness work better than others behind divers?
Typical speed?
I'm looking at suspended fish in the 25-40' range on a deep lake targeting eyes. I have line counters with braid main line to #0 dipsy divers and typically run 8 pound fluoro to jointed plugs running in the 2mph range but want to try something different to see if numbers go up.

I like to run a 10ft leader of 17# fluro off the back of my dipsys... as far as numbers go it really all depends where fish are located in colum.. how fast you're going... what setting your diver is at and what youre pulling...
Generally speaking....
At 1.7-2.2mph with fish down 45 on a #3 setting with the ring on it and I'm down 105-125 depending what I'm dragging..
If you're going at least 1.5 any blade will spin...
I pull colorados..willow..double willow..turtlebacks

pretty much the same for me.
I also like the spoon harnesses from Mike's Walley Rigs.
They are a spoon harness combo

Thanks. basically was looking for leader lengths from the diver and I'm also typically 8-10' as well.

your rod length will somewhat dictate this.
Also how far forward a guy with the rod can go when trying to land a fish.
Also how long your net handle is.
You get the picture.
