Chicken of the Woods

I was out yesterday in a nice oak woods and happened to find a nice Chicken of the Woods mushroom. This is the earliest I’ve ever found them, usually it’s August or later in the year. Here’s a picture of the room. It was tasty last night with supper. Hex

I usually start finding them in mid to late May in the northern part of the state.
