what the best eaten size for a bullhead ;D

best eating size is from about 12-16in but smaller/bigger is ok too.
I like big fish and I cannot lie!

After they are cleaned and  8"- 9" of meat is left is my favoriate. Also the
large ones that you have to fillet are good also.

I like the smaller ones. The larger ones tend to taste muddy. Between 7 and 10 inches is what I prefer.

the smaller ones are better. let the big guys go. the smaller ones cook through evenly. the big ones dont. want to have good popualtions of them for the years after so i let the big boys and girls go. you can catch plenty of the smaller ones. i keep all the small ones until about 5-6 inches? ill take a measurement on my smallest one. probably bigger than 5-6. the largest about 10-11. catch alot of good ones ;D.

early in the season the big ones are good they havent muddied up to much then later on stick with 6-10 range anything smaller is hard to clean

I prefer them 10-16 inches.Just ez-er to fillet.

there is no best eating size because they all taste the same.........horrible try a perch or crappie.

you haven't had them from the Finger lakes in the spring then have you Perchfisher?  I agreed until I tasted, then the perch and crappie kinda paled...  spring bullies are awesome

if the water that you fish for heads is a little iffy like the seneca river, i would eat very few bullheads and the ones that you do eat should be filleted. all the nasty taste comes from frying them up with the mud line and or belly fat still on them. the mudline breaks and gets into the flesh causing the bad taste. big dave out

no i have never tried them from finger lake but they jus look so nasty

Ive been gettign them in the 10-13 inch range adn they taste pretty good.
