Bummer Dom - it was a real nail biter for sure.
Sabres won too!!!

Home again.
Nice being close to the port.
Drive home was like 2.5 hrs.
Departing the ship, customs, retrieving the truck, etc. was a breeze.
FAR easier and less time than past trips.

I just made us a small bfast as we hadn't eaten since dinner last night.
Also took a bag of previously cooked roast pork out of the chest freezer for dinner later.
We love cruising, but it's always nice to get back home.

Now to go get Macy.

The trip was awesome, and badly needed by both of us.
The move coupled with the hurricane and everything else that we have been dealing with built up a lot of stress.
Not supposed to have more stress when you retire!!!
So, this little trip helped us to chill away from things for a bit.

We booked next year's cruise while aboard the ship.
Next November we will fly to Rome, Italy.
We will spend 3-4 days there sightseeing, and then board a ship for a 15-day cruise back to Lauderdale here in Florida.
The first 8 days are around the Mediterranean stopping in Spain, France, Italy, Gilbralter, and Portugal.
Then 7 days at sea cruising to Lauderdale.
These "transition" cruises, where they relocate a ship, are about 2/3 the cost of the same length cruise elsewhere.
Of course, they have less ports they visit.
Should be fun.

Thanks Wally.

BTW, Donna is Italian.
She has always wanted to visit Italy.
Her family is from Calabria, way down in the "toe of the boot".
We won't get down there, but she's cool about it, and excited.
