Getting closer

Ice is on the way out on local ponds. As usual ringnecks have arrived for iceout. Spring and love is in the air, the boys are chasing the girls round and round their little clear spot.

Yeah, shallow pond down the road. First to freeze, first to thaw relative to shoreline lakes I fish. The deep gravel pit on the opposite side of the road is last to freeze, close to last to thaw. Less than 100 yards apart, very different ice.
