I was out last Saturday bottom bouncing only managed 2 keepers and a handful of shorts. Going to try to get out Friday morning I think I’m going to throw the riggers on and troll stickbaits I’ve had good success in the past this time of year trolling deeper water. I will say the water seems quite high still for this time of year

Not to derail this thread. iceman260, weather was pretty good for the most part. Only 1 day we didn't go out in the boat. Several days twice. We went all over to try our luck and even fished some new spots. I use the "Hot Spots" maps and anther same type to find more structure. The shortest small mouth was 15". Largest a tie between the wife and I at 18.25". If you are lucky enough to hook a decent smallie up there you are in for a battle. They just do not quit. Very rarely do they break water and try to cut your line on the rocks and zebra muscles. All total, 8 small mouth, 2 pike, 7 perch and some gobies. Many stolen bait. The pike were caught by me. 35" & 42" respectively. I was not targeting them, but they took my bait. The bigger one actually went after a small perch I hooked and was reeling in. Didn't know until I netted it and saw a small perch on my hook. We talked to many fishermen and they said fishing was slow/no so good this year. I don't think we did that bad but never caught a walleye. This weekend I will at Sacandaga........

BTW- We only drift fished to bottom bounce or the 30 lb troller on 1-2 speed to just move the boat..
While searching for the meaning of life an older gentleman showed me how to fish. Since then I FOUND IT!!!!!!

Yes, will be up there on Monday but may be able to go up Sunday night. On call this weekend. Also, for those who are interested in the water level there, here is a link to present and past levels.

BBB, it was a cool start this morning. You caught some fish.

I did pretty good myself, 11 walleyes, 4 were keepers, didn't keep any. Most of the fish came from one area, 23 to 26 fow between 10 and noon. Strange bite, they wanted the jig right tight to bottom with just a lift of 2 or 3 inches and I would loose the weight of the jig, set the hook and they were hooked up. There was no wind and I could watch the jig on the fish finder, just like ice fishing. They were on a flat about 20 yards from the river bed. Biggest was about 18"....h2l
