Well, my son got some schooling on the table saw yesterday. We ran a bunch of different operations to process some material. Made several small fixtures and jigs for different cutting needs. He's never really thought about that sort of thing. More artistic in nature than mechanical. So I'm working on waking up that mechanical gene I know he must have.

He's a fantastic artist. He draws what he sees by imagination or real life. I've never been able to do that. I can do mechanical drawings, but I cannot capture proportions freehand the way he does.

So, I'm teaching him to work in the wood shop using solid, safe procedures. One thing's for sure, we're having fun!

Remember this?

Here she is now.

Almost there. A little cleanup left on the top. Mount some electrical and the motor and it's good to go. The saw will be primarily used for dado cutting small parts so I'll fabricate a sledge and extension table for it. There's an idea for a
t-fence rolling around in my brain too.

Great job on the restoration of those old power tools. We probably couldn't afford to buy anything if it was built like the old stuff. When are you going to put the addition on the shop? You're going to need more room soon ;D.

If you build it, they will come....  ;D

Funny, we had a bluebird show up at our "house" this morning. Our orioles are back as well. I think it's spring!  ;D

I dunno....did over 200 bags of mulch today. Store was seriously short handed and my partner called in.

I've been happier.
