Thats a good effort Pat.  Id like a ditch pickle redo one day.

I fished the housy mid day between meetings.  I got a handful of a brown and many others.  They are in the faster water now.  My favorite.

Another forage base for the walleyes too I would imagine.
Probably not a feasible solution though on a body of water the size of Erie.

An exotic species and the water is probably borderline too cool for them for the most part even in western Lake Erie.

My buddy is pretty heavy into these carp fishing tournaments. I couldn’t believe all the “secret” baits and other pre baiting methods, etc.. that is involved. He caught a mirrored carp at his last tournament. He travels all over the country fishing them. The tournaments last days at a time.

Not trout but still long rod related.  Me and 3 friends fished the Cheeky Schoolie Tournament on the cape this Saturday.  The weather did not really cooperate for the long rod but my new sinking line setup worked as advertised in adverse conditions.  Unfortunately we were only able to find small fish.  They were all covered in sea lice but I didn't land one that broke the 20" mark to register for the tourney.  I landed probably the smallest striper of my life on my second cast.  It was like 10" and then proceeded to land 3 more in the first 1.5 hours but they were all 12-18".  We tried several other spots in the afternoon, one friend landed 3 other rats and one guy got one 24" striper at the buzzer but didn't have his ruler to even register it.  Regardless was a fun day, learned some new spots, what to do and what not to do.  May give it another try next year as the cause and swag bag were worth it.
