Winona Lake

Was a little frustrated that the public ramp was closed due to dredging on Winona. Drove a ways to try the walleye fishing there but could not find a way on. I don't know how much longer it will be closed but just a heads up for those of you not in the area.

I didn't realize they were dredging it, but that channel has been pretty shallow... particularly later in the year.

Don't know where they are dredging, it was not right by the launch. I hope you are right that the channel is being worked on.

That would be awesome news!  Winona is one of my favorite lakes, but was getting harder and harder to get my boat down the channel without bumping something.  They drop the lake about 2' in the fall and winter, I think to help reduce flooding in the spring.  Should be much better access next spring.
