Mine would be a 19-20" brown last year in the Catskill Creek, as big as they get there really. 8)

well i am assuming you mean non-anadromous fish...my biggest brown was a 21" out of the saranac and a 22 inch rainbow from the hoosic.

Stream, I'm assuming small river or body of water. (because my biggest ever is a 17 lb. brown out of the gunny gorge.). A small stream...hmmm. a secret creek that shouldn't have trout near gateway I landed plenty of 2-4 lb rainbows and browns as a little kid, and a few up around 5 and 6 lbs. This creek is a mystery...a tiny creek and it produces huge fish, but then again it has sculpins and a variety of insects to live on.

The small creek i was fishing wasn't a mystery. It was only 5 to 15 feed wide but it was 2 to 5 feet deep with hundreds of spawning red salmon in it ;D

but were they in there all year like these are? Also, with 100 degree weather and most streams around it HOT water? Lol... sorry to tangent here. A 18" trout out of a small stream is a trophy in my book. (excluding X creek)

My biggest small stream trout are browns and the occasional rainbow in the 4  - 6 pound range out of the same creek that  TFB mentioned, and also one other creek in SW Colo.
Now I catch tons of big trout in the Colorado, Roaring Fork, Snake, and Gunnison Rivers, but those are big rivers so it isn't as special. I would say a 16" trout is a nice fish in most small creeks. Biggest trout of all time is a 17 pound rainbow from the upper Colorado River.

You are right TFB, the fish are only there for spawning and spawning salmon.

Caught a 25" brown out of the Battenkill River in Shushan, NY.  Hope to do better than that this year, had a monster on last year but held in the current and got off.
