I’ll be looking for gold tomorrow. It  will be just a little more windy  tomorrow but if the bite is like it was Sunday it should be good.Winter is coming in for the weekend .Good luck to all who are still out on the soft water

Hit wawasee today from 730 till 3.Hit 12 real nice perch and then the winds came and they pretty much shut down.Still a great day on the water.Open water days are coming to an end real soon .Sunday may be perch day again.

I need to build a crawfish trap and set it up on a flat and try to catch some of those small ones that they are gorging themselves on.The best bait for the bigger ones!.Most of the big perch stomachs were packed full

1/8 oz jig with a 2.5” tube could work too.  I have caught a good number of larger perch on tubes while bass fishing in the fall

Ha! I remember fishing Saddle Lake in early December in  lower Michigan in a blinding snow storm in my my little 12' Penn Yan wooden lapstrake boat with a canvas exterior. The wind was blowing up a gale but we caught largemouth nearly every cast!!!! My Johnson 3 horse decided not to run and had only one canoe paddle so my buddy and I used the one paddle and the landing net to get back to the landing! Ha! Young and dumb but what fun!!

Then as a comparison, I remember my Dad ice fishing on Thanksgiving weekend on a farm pond in Rensselaer, IN. in the early 60's. We had ice from then until March!!!
