Thanks, I tend to fish with Ultra-lites most of the time.    It is usually a blast fishing with them.

Hey, thanks camo_fish I am heading out with the family tonight after the Bulls and maybe a few crappies.    Ill try to remember my camera tonight.   Not sure if we are going to keep any, but I want to try to smoke a few so maybe a few will get bucketed, heard they are ok that way, and a few bulls combined with the trout we got should be enough to fill the smoker.

Got out from 6:30 to 9:30 tonight, got 6 or 7 bulls, a nice perch  (10 inches) a decent bluegill, and a big shiner.     Let them all go.   The bulls were not as big as the othernight.    Was occampanied by my mom an d dad.    Just had another beautiful night out under the stars.     I love fishing in this spot.    And we were even accompanied by Ben, our faithfull family bassett hound, he was just happy to get out with us and not be left behind.

Bensmen (my dad) and Ben (where my dads SN came from)

and a picture of mom and dad

Only a few things missing, Chucker and my brother and it would have been the best night out this year.

No crappies tonight though, there is always tomorrow night  ;D      Thinking about seeing if my neighbor wants to head out.

Still a good time I bet... nothing compares to quality time on the water with family, a family that fishes together stays together, I grew up fishin with my father and there is nobody on the planet I would rather fish with. Aside from that, getting youngsters into the game is our future, cant go wrong with that  8)

No worries Jim... Going to camp tomorrow.  This time we get to use indoor plumbing, too!

Might see if we can actually get the big rowboat out so I can try the Opti2.  Even so, there might be bullhead out front tomorrow night.  8)

Indoor plumming this time?   Sweet!
It would be nice if you two could get the boat out.   I bet the bulls are starting to come out in front of camp at night.     It will at leaste be worth givin them a shot.

Went out tonight again for a little bullhead action.
Started off with a light pole and a bobber to see if I could find some decent crappies or perch.
I didn't get anything decent, but with spikes tonight I caught, a bunch of shiners, a ton of perch (mostly dinks, one was around 10 inches or so) a small crappie, a bass and a pickerel.   All on spikes.     Couldn't believe a pickerel grabbed the spikes.     One of the Shiners probably went almost 12 inches, it was a beast, bigger then any bull I caught tonight.     I missed that ponds grand slam by not catching a sunfish.

here is a large shiner.

a dink perch

here is the pond I fish looking from right moving to the left

It is a great sorta secret little pond that I have grown to liek so far this year.    Saw some nice bass jumping.   I cant wait for bass/pike season.   Ill be out there pulling buzz baits.

Problem with this pond is it weeds up pretty well, deepest hole is maybe 10 ft.   and it has a fair amount of logs.   Lost 3 or 4 bulls in them tonight.
But I managed a few.    when they decide they want to take the worm they inhale it totally

biggest was around 11 inches or so

here is all three

and the end product

I dont catch a whole lot in that pond bullhead wise, I know there are places where I can catch more.   But there is something neat about being the only one fishing the lake at night, with almost no houses around.     Headed back in around 10 or so when the canister on my lantern died.     3 nights of fishing was enough for that one.    Bite had died off so I didnt bother putting on the other canister.

I need a few more so Ill head back out tomorrow for them.

Got out for a few more hours, just to catch 3 more to make it 6 for dinner sometime.    Two for each of us is a good amount for the size I've been getting.
Tonight it was attack of hte angry beaver though.   I fish there pretty often as of latly adn never have had this beaver out in front of me.   It was almost pacing back and forth out a ways in front of me a ways and slappin its tail every once in a while.    It wasnt too happy I was there I guess.
Caught a bunch of the bulls, they were bitting pretty well, but lacking in size.    No great size but I kept the three I needed.

Managed to catch a nice crappie adn gill before the sun went down and a few smaller crappies and a ton of dink perch.

Those trout in the pictures I posted earlier combined with a few dollies from alaska and my 3 lb brown through the ice got smoked today.   MMM MMM tastey  ;D

Ill be back out fishing soon.    Mayeb for more bulls, or maybe trout    8)
