Need help locating a motor
« on: May 30, 2007, 08:31 AM »
Hope this is allowed....if not please delete.

I have an older gent (65) that I fish with and on his last trip out chasing the Hudson river Stripers it appears that the lower drive on his outboard ate itself.  He's looking for a replacement motor as this is the 3rd lower unit he's replaced.  he would like a 100-125hp so if anyone knows of a place that I can contact or where ot look relatively local in the northeast, please PM me.  Would hate to see him sell it as he really loves to fish from it.

Thanks in advance,
Steve

are you looking for new or used.  You could try alpinehaus in Amsterdam for new motors.

Roy,
I'm pretty sure he's looking at a used on as a new unit will be a bit pricey for him.  I'll search for their site and contact them.  Thank you for the information, much appreciated!

May find something useful here
If the rule is 5 fish or 5 pounds, what if the 5th fish weighs 5 pounds?

Try Andersens Boat Shop in Burnt Hills on Rt 50.  They have older/used motors if he is looking for a replacement.  Not sure what's available currently, but they always have a handful.  I believe the number is 399-5003.  Good luck.

Try out craigslist.com. I found my boat on this site and it gets very local. I like it a ton better than Ebay. Good luck Jar Head.
