Comet Neowise
« on: Jul 09, 2020, 07:24 AM »
I know....it's not fishing. But, fishermen are early risers. If you get up early enough( like I do) around 4 am, take a good look low in the North Eastern sky. This comet is very visible to the naked eye.

Watched it this morning while on my walk.

After the 13 th, you night hawks can see it for the next couple weeks I think.

It's worth a gaze.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Couldn't  see the comet this morning. Hazy clouds to the north.

Social distance walking. Been walking at 4-5 am for more years than I can remember.

Wait....what day is it?

Another few days and we can view it in the evening.

As a morning object, the comet's best views will come during a three-day stretch on the mornings of July 11, 12 and 13, when it will stand 10 degrees above the northeast horizon, 80 minutes before sunrise —

I just googled that

Thanks for sharing. I'll have to look as I get up that early these days.

Comets have been herelded as harbringers of doom. Sounds appropriate for a year that is FUBAR.

Went out at 10:30 last night but couldn't find it. I think there was too much light pollution from Buffalo in the direction of the Big Dipper. The sky was too bright. Lousy cities. Bazillions of fireflies though.  I'll try again later this coming week.  According to Accuweather it will be higher off the horizon.
