Got down to the river again today to do some fishing.  Ended up catching one 16 inch walleye.  Had a big (probably around 25 inches) eye follow right to shore and go after my lure right next to my feet, when he turned to swim away half of his body was actually out of the water on shore.  Had another smaller eye follow right to shore and a big smallie at the same spot.  Caught a beautiful 3 lb smallie toward the end.  Only fished for around 2 hours.

We took a ride to Port Jervis today. Water was high. But got my shad darts wet.

Then we stopped at Poxono Island.  A guy was pulling his boat out because the water was too high. The shad are there.

That water color and the wind has me inside reading today, water color is bad enough without the wind gusts ruining any chance at a decent drift.

the river looked good today when i drove through narrowsburg today.  there was two guys fishing from the bank on the PA side boat launch.  dont know what they were catching if anything.

if the shad are not up yet Im sure they will be by the end of next week.  four days in the 70's with it staying about average after that.

Was up north yesterday. River was low and the bite was slow. Not many bucks up there yet ,but this rain should get the moving.

Don't have my camera card reader for my lap top yet. I went out and took pics this morning. She went from 100cfm to4600cfm over night. Saw 50' trees coming down river.  :o   The big D will be up tomorrow.

Sounds like major stream bed changes again!

Its a safe bet...she was ripping at 127,000cfs (Belvidere gauge)   :o :o    With any luck the fallen trees on 1 of my favorite walleye stretches will have gotten blown out...I musta lost $30 worth of jigs on em this year  :-\

My daughter and I walked down the trail on the other side of the ball field. Brush was real high. I think this water should have knocked that down nicley.

Dmntd, thanks for the good pictures! Those trees may be gone from your spot but there will be new jams of debris we will have to deal with! I'll have to be careful running the boat when she goes down. A new adventure after every flood!  Mark

It'll be a learning experience all over again. Thats exactly why I love fishing rivers though, just when you think you have em figured out they change and you start all over again  ;D
