Yes, we called them silver bass when we were kids in the sixties.  Fun to catch, they fight well for their size.  In Lake O, in the late spring, we caught tons of them while bullhead fishing or sometimes on purpose just for fun.  We ate some, nobody seemed to come back for seconds!  This was near Rochester, mostly fishing over a sandy bottom in shallow water.  They are not very fussy about what they eat.  I have caught a few recently while ice fishing in Sandy Ponds near Blind Creek.  I wonder why their numbers have apparently declined so much?  Probably not a bad thing.  I am amazed at how the various fish populations have repeatedly changed in my lifetime in Lake O.  I didn't know anyone bought those Trapper.  Back in the day you could probably catch 100 lbs per night, we could have been rich!

Great walleye bite this evening. My oldest son is sick so I took the 3 year old out. We were done in under 2 hours. He did ok reeling in fish with help holding the rod.

That wind was interesting. It went from light to 20 MPH for 20 minutes to light again. We missed the rain fairly good too.

Nice job, Bruce.

I saw one boat trying to make it back in when that wind picked up and it did not look like fun.

Kudos to the complainant! Don't they release the name of the game hog?
