We saw a lot of dead shad on the north shore yesterday, wierd thing is I never caught one in the lake. We did good, not a lot of bugs yet but lots of pollen floating around. Got a lot of small ones around 6 inches long, they were mixed with perch, really good fishing right now.

The Cove Road launch is ready. This should help a lot with the East End access.  :thumbup_smilie:

I have a small Pelican Bass Raider boat with a trolling motor. Is that enough boat for Oneida? Thanks.

Depends on wind and waves.
Nobody can answer this for you.
You know the boat and its limitations.
If you get to the lake and it is too rough that day, go home.
If not, go fishing.

Also, if it's a west wind, try the lee side of the lake.
Might be calm enough that way.

When I had my smaller boat there were many days we turned around and had breakfast then headed to another lake that  lays North and south , if the the lake starts to blow up Oneida gets rough quickly
If the wind is out of the east , east end might be ok plus you can fish  up the canal
 Good luck and be safe
