Thanks again guys.  Fishing isn't the primary purpose of the trip (save that for a guys' trip) so we want to be able to put in at or near the campground & stage a couple vehicles on Bridge St in Gilead.  Bought a one-day ME license & converted a handful of lures to make them legit.  All catch & release the entire stretch we'll be in, so the only toxins I'll have in me is from drinking beer all weekend.

How'd it go?  Any luck fishing?
It is understood that fishing licenses, gas, bait, etc., all cost money, but try not to let a limit of trout be your only gauge for success. – Ben Nugent, (NH F&G) Regional Fisheries Biologist

No Steve the water was ripping super fast, had no luck.  We also didn't spend more than a few hours fishing.

I did manage to dump my kayak & go for a nice water ride down river a couple thousand feet, so I had that going for me.  Saved the beer though!
