Only down side for me in a yak is my back gets sore after a couple of hours even though I completely revamped the original seating. However, although I am not seriously overweight at a max of 183 and 5 feet 9 inches at age 62, I've cut out soft drinks and fast food exercise everyday, so I'm down to 171 and hope to drop below 160 at some point. I'm hoping this will help with my comfort in the yak. Also working on my flexibility.

The only other minor thing is setting the down rigger can be awkward in the kayak.

In my kayak the times my back has hurt seem to be the result of having the foot rests too far forward.

You may on to something. I don't have foot rests but I may need to adjust the pedals.
