My go to summertime perch bait. Cast them right up in the shallows .

Never really was much of a jigger in open water. I'm a troller mostly except for the ice season of course, but I'm going to have to try that. I've got all the fixins I just need to devote some time to it. I know a good drift is a lot cheaper on the gas bill.

62 we also use that rig through the ice for perch
Nothing fancy about it , not much more than an old fashioned bullhead rig ,also called a high low rig
Now they just give it a fancy name drop shot 😃

2 gold Aberdeen number 6 or 4 with a sinker on the bottom with minnows has been doing good for us. Put about 30 pounds of filets in the freezer the last 2 weeks. I'm gonna get carpal tunnel fileting all of these fish. There are worse things. Should start after these walleyes next, been slim pickings from shore so far. If I keep it up I won't have room for fish in the freezers.

I may be up by the lake this Sunday. If so and the evening is nice, I'll try that shore fishing. It'll be just a shot in the dark haha
Never tried it before

I been lucky enough to get out 4 times since 9/30. Did well this time last year on the shallow weed edge drop-shotting for perch, but this year NADA, dink city. Been having most fun trolling cranks and throwing blade baits in 30+ FOW. Lots of bites but vey few keepers. Hoping for decent weather for November, get a few more trips in before ice.

In the process of putting my boat in the moth balls right now. I just need a nice warm day so I can give it a good scrubbing in and out. Any fishing from here on will be in the hip boots until ice.

Way to slam em Fred. I almost went last night around here. Got as far as asking KP about shore casting and then passed out at 9.
