The drake, as promised. Saw waxwings picking them off last night as I fished my way up the creek from an access point 1/4 mile downstream.

Very nice

that one was in Speculator, NY, Sacandaga Lake, The first one I've seen in the Adirondacks.

They are all over the place down on the Shenandoah River, VA, and the hellgramites are hugh down there and the smallies and redeye tear them up.

Yeah, I have alot of the Dobsonflies here, but I cannot find hellagramites to save my life!

It's spring, and we just got a new camera. Walked around the house with the Canon Rebel XT SLR digital, sporting the EFS 17-85mm IS/USM lens.

These images are tiny, and don't do the camera justice. The original images (before cropping) are just under 8 megapixels, and run about 4MB a piece.
