I tried  to  find  flys  that  represent  multiable  baits  a  sculpin pattern  can  be  a  sculpin  a sucker  a baby bullhead a  goby  and  so on  .....  I  like  them  weighted  heavy  and  dragged  on the  bottom in short pulls  ...................  sorry  now   ya  all  getting me   worked  up  ....RG   going  back  to my  favorite   fly  the  muddler  ...  try a  dark  brown  to  black  and   tie  it marabou... the  olive  works  well  in  my  area  ...and  remember weight is  our  friend

Any progress on the rod Rg ?

Have just the second tip to finish up. I took a break this past weekend and fussed around with some other projects. Just couldn't concentrate on the rod. Better to leave it alone for a few days.

The Old Man and I used to dock his Chaparral there during the Lake O derbies. I hated trolling (still do) but, he needed a deck hand. I had more fun catching eels in the marina at night than I did trolling. It's just not fun for me. I'd rather flip a bobber or fly  in the back waters for gills or crappies than troll.

Our family had a cottage on the lake north of Lyndonville. There used to be a little amusement park in Olcott my parents took us to. There was also a little walk up seafood place that served great fried shrimp as I recall.

Well, it works out fine. You take that end of the lake Mac, we 'll take this end.

I've been working on some secret jigs for spring gills and crappies. I'd show you....but then I'd have to shoot you.......cause it's a secret.
