Nice pics grump!!  You are missing a few colors though...  Where are all the reds and oranges??  You've got the aspens, alders, and birches to give you the yellows, but where are the other colors??

We are just starting to turn the corner and peak will be here within the next week or so.  I'll get some pics and post them for you to see what New England looks like in the autumn!!

I have some pics from last year's bird hunting trip up in northern NH which shows the colors pretty good.  Will post those when I have a chance.  Wife is trying to take over the pc right now though...

Well, here's a photo from a few hours away from Grumpymoe's.  After work, we had supper, and headed for the river in the middle of a city of about 650,000.  We had no hits, but I had to check out the new digital camera (this one has a neck strap to help keep it from winding up in 30 ft. of water - next thing is to get the Pelican case for it).

It was nearing sunset, so the camera must have chosen a slower shutter speed (hence the blur of a rod in the 4 year old's hands).  No fish tonight, but we got some fresh air on a beautiful evening.

No...I had one hit and miss.  The kids claimed a couple hits, but we're never quite sure yet when they say that...some bait was lost.  We were out for about an hour...need to remember to grab a flashlight / lantern the next time we head out in the evening.

Scott,

We spent some time in Wisconsin last summer (passing through) and we really enjoyed it.  It has to be one of my favourite states (not that I've been through that many).  We camped one night at Racine...on our way home we stopped at the Dells and did the Ducks...great fun.  Of course, we had to take in a cheese place as well.  Nice country.

Woa there buddy.  What happened to the golf?  It'll be real hard to see the ole Titleist on that fairway now.  ;D
What are the tracks in the yard from?  Dog, cat, snowshoe hare?

Those tracks would be that of one of the local golf course bunny rabbits. Don't dare eat them though with all those nasty fertilizers in there bellies.

I thought that was a bunny.   ;D  You are right about it not being a good idea to eat those bunnies.  Talk about bioaccumulation.  Fungicides, herbicides, and pesticides don't make for tasty wabbits.  Probably don't want to eat too many fish out of your local golf course pond, either.

Probably don't want to eat too many fish out of your local golf course pond, either.

That's funny you mention that, I was out last summer and was thinking about going into the pond one night to collect the golf balls. I'm talking to one of the guys working on the course and mentioned that it was probably not a good idea to go in there. I ask why and he tells me that they put enough chemicals in the pond (to keep the weeds down) to probably make your you know whats fall off. Good thing I took his advice and never went in.

As you can see the pond is not that far from my backyard.
