Curios as to what bait most of you use for bait on lk Michigan.I always use small shiners. And maybe that’s why I don’t do very well .Would just plain fat heads be the best?

Would the white meat from the tail of crawfish work well? I've heard guys use soft crawls but they are too rich for my blood.

In my experience, and I think conventional wisdom as well, shiners usually outfish fatheads considerably

You just have to ask yourself do you want to pay 5 bucks or 20? Eeinghburghs in Demotte at 1 dollar a dozen or 1.25 for fatheads. Cheapest around. I used to buy by the pound when Marvels was in Business. Think they were like 8.50 to 12 dollars. Enough for 2 boats and then some. 12 to 15 dozen.... I agree baby roaches or shiners will catch more fish. AND THEY DO LIKE THE LARGER ONES. I WAS SURPRISED. Anyone get out today?

Fatheads will catch you fish.

Baby roaches will catch you quality. Hand over fist.
its more than catching food, its also catching a piece of mind and integrity within
