Smelt are done, been done for long time, gone back to the depth's. Can't use em'at all at Wachusett or the Quabin. Only a good bait in waters they are in naturally. Don't mean you won't catch anything at all, but it's not part of the routine diet. It's to warm to keep them alive. Them saying the smelt season doesn't mean what you think, it means the seasons over for being able to get them, therefore you can use them. You can't possess them during their breeding season when you could use them to your advantage. The only place you can catch them for bait is Quinsig and you chances are nill.
Throw'em out with bait, kick back and wait !
