Here's something I turned up for the kids.
A magicians wand.

Not sure what the feather has to do with anything, but it's there  ;D

A fun turn anyway.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Well that's what holds the magic, silly!   ;)

A very fine foray into wandcraft!  ;D

My son is working on one too. I have a piece of oak dowel I found in the bin at Lowes that's pretty unbelievable looking. Mostly burl and flame. I'm going to make one from that as soon as my back heals up. Right now I couldn't stand at the lathe for very long without being in pain.

Should be ok by the weekend ......I hope.

I had a bunch of different people mesmerized with one of the tops at work today. They just couldn't understand how it re-wound itself. They watched it work like a bunch of 2 year olds. Very interesting.

Well, it oils the wheels of ingenuity anyway.

In reality, my Son and I were hanging out playing with the lathe turning tops and drinking a few beers. Now, before the safety police yell at me, we were perfectly under control. No one died, lost any limbs or digits and no tops were harmed during the process.

It was one of those "What If" kind of things.

Love it when stuff works!
