Fished Cayuta Lake this morning. Caught over 60 Crappie. Only 2 over the 9 inch minimum. About half were 8 1/2 inches! OK, the water is still a bit cold for the bigger females to hit the shallows, but I think a 10 inch minimum might be sort of unrealistic for some lakes. If they are going to raise the minimum for some lakes to 12 inches; how about lowering the limit to 8 inches for lakes like Cayuta? Maybe reducing the number of 8 inch Crappie, in lakes like Cayuta, might result in better overall growth?

I agree about where and when they change sizes and limits. PS was on Saratoga yesterday breaking in new boat and motor. The water temp was still only 46.5 to 48.5.

Same results every year i find. a lot of 8 inches seldom a keeper.
Need a slot limit. keep ten fish over 9. and ten fish under 9
