Still Plodding Along
« on: Feb 17, 2024, 03:39 PM »
Although I've devoted most of my outdoor efforts to ice fishing lately, I still try to occasionally get in some stream fishing as well.

Today, I tried not just one but two small streams.

It was about 30 degrees and sunny, with light flurries.

First, I fished Hudson Brook in North Adams for about an hour.  A couple weeks ago, I caught a pair of nice browns, but today I got skunked.

I took a break for an hour and went to Chowderfest in North Adams, sampling the chowder, taking part in the "People's Choice" contest (my personal favorite was Boston Seafood's entry) and walking along Main Street to see some of the other attractions.

Then I drove south to Adams and fished Pecks Brook at the Glen, where I did a bit better - - reeling in a dozen brookies in the 3" to 8" range.

My poor hands and feet are still defrosting, though.

Well done Jim.  Nice that the locals cooperated for you.
