Figured I'd pester the bass for a while. Kept a couple for a meal.
Caught quite a few and a bonus walleye. Released a coupe of shorts as well.
A very fun morning indeed.

Nice mixed bag. I like the bass in crabcake form and seasonings. Or soak them in a soy brown sugar and chilies then grill. I hope to do some fishing on Oneida this summer.

They're like that in the Canal. Torpedo shaped.
I'm headed out tomorrow morning early as well. I'll see if I can get a basket for my Friend's mom. She's a great old farm lady and loves it when I bring her fish.

nice catch! I like your recipe for fish;lots of spices, etc. so it doesn't taste like fish. YUK!
PS just got back from the Catskills fishing Beaverkill and East Branch, 58 brownies most stockies but some wild ones mixed in; nothing big all on BWO, sulfur or olive caddis size 14 and 16.

Enormous mayfly hatch on the Canal last night. Shucks everywhere. Small wonder I couldn't raise any panfish. Good thing the big guys were still hungry.

Lost a beauty of a walleye at the boat this morning. It managed to get wrapped around the anchor line. Other than that, not as many bass and a few crappies.
It got HOT quick. Home by 9:15.
Nothing but a couple rockies trolling.

Nice Rg. Rockies have been on fire this year! Trolling, casting and a bunch on Sat. on baby torps before the sun peeked thru...

Oh Lord - there he is, it feels like a big one, please don\'t let me lose him, I\'ve never caught one this big before. I\'ll try not to horse him, and if I land him, I promise to release him, and make a graphite replica, if my wife says it\'s ok. Thank you for the Rapalas...

I caught a few really big( for the Canal) rockies last trip out. Used to target them back when I traveled around with the boat more.
These days I stay closer to home.
