I fish this every year have for over 10 years now... used to fly into Lowes lake which is where this river starts... now they wont allow planes to land on the lake so we canoe from the lower parking area on the bog river and make the long paddle into the lake... only fish plastics for bass so can not attest for the trout fishing but I can say the bass fishing On Lowes and the upper Bog are great!!!!! That is once you get above the Dam and away from the day paddlers... never have fished any lower than the dam before but above we average over 50 large mouths a piece per day all on plastic lizards fishing structure and shorelines... we go up the 2nd week of August every year.

My wife and I did an 8 day canoe trip on the Bog River/Lowe's Lake. God's Country for sure. Unfortunately we were too busy sightseeing to fish much other than catching a few Gills for a meal one night on Grass pond. I want to get back up again soon. I will have to fish more on the way.

On the side, We camped on a small bluff about 20 feet from the river half way between the dams. about 2AM a Loon cut loose next to the tent. Ever been woken up from a deep sleep by a screaming woman bouncing around inside a small tent? We still laugh about it.
