Won't be long now before the "run" is upon us. I've already heard reports of some smaller fish starting to make there way up the Connecticut River. Obviously anyone who fishes during this time of year (late April-early June) knows how many fish inhabit the river. The Enfield Dam is always a good place but I mostly fish in Mass, either the South Hadley Dam, 391 Bridge, or mouth of the Chicopee River. Anyone else hear any reports? This topic should really heat up in the next couple of weeks!

Matt - Merrimack right now is running 5-8ft above, yet with some warming ocean temps and the large amount of water flow from the merrimack shad/herring/stripers should start appearing soon.I like to keep track of any stripers being caught at the CANAL and add 2 weeks to establish a run in the merrimack, but with mother nature YOU NEVER KNOW??

It appears the Merrimack run is a bit later then the one over here (Conn. River) Stripers, herring, shad all being caught.

Went out last Friday April 30 and fished the mouth of the Chicopee and Westfield. Caught shad @ Chicopee and smallie @ Westfield. The stripers don'r appear to be up here in #'s yet. Anyone else doing anything out there?
