I actually took lessons from Ed J several years ago. holy crap, that guy can cast! he can actually cast AROUND objects. he will put a person in front of his cast, and cast straight at him.........but the fly (he doesnt use a hook
)will land perfectly behind that person without touching him! now I dont claim to be able to cast as well or as far as Ed.....but he showed us to just give a tiny flick of the wrist at the end of the cast, this will keep your line from colliding with itself.
give it a try in the yard with a piece of yarn as a fly....brighter the better....so you can see where its going.
