Bass Could Use some Chapstick
« on: May 29, 2014, 07:43 PM »
I had a few hours of fishing the creek at the local park today.  It seemed like they all had a nice appetite for my little white spider.  I caught several large mouth bass.  Some of the bass had very sore bottom lips.  Anyone know what that is all about?

My guess is they were feeding on crayfish in the rocks.

I think you are correct.  There are lots of craws in that creek.  Oddly though, the smallies I've caught do not have sore lips; it's only a large mouth issue I guess.

I think it needs a little "Cold-eeze" lip therapy (those darn cold sores can ruin your spawning opportunities)
