Very nice. When my wife gets closer to retirement , I'd like to look into a Class C motorhome.

We took it in to a service place to have a LOT of things checked and worked on.  Tires, brakes, suspension, generator, AC units on roof and main motor, belts, hoses, radiator, tranny, rear end, roof, slide outs, furnace, hot water tank, inverter, converter, main motor…….tons of stuff to say the least.
Went there tonight to review things.
Chaaaaaching!!!
$$$$$$$$
Holy crapolla!!

Oh well
It’s only money - right.
🙄

Here’s a couple recent pics Donna took of it before we took it in.

We have a week in mid October reserved at a campground in Olean for a test run.
Then, assuming everything passes the test run, it gets winterized and placed into storage.
Next April we have 2 weeks reserved at a campground down in Florida where we plan to retire next year in the Fall.
The 2 week vacation will be retirement practice.   ;D
We will also probably start looking for our place to buy down there.
The motorhome will give us something to travel the US and CAN in but also and maybe more importantly it will give us something to live in while we home shop.

An update.

It comes home from Bison Fleet later today.
Like I said earlier - CHAAAACHING!  $$$$
Oh well, it will be right.............and more importantly, it will be safe.

This Friday we head down to Olean area for a weekend test run of things.
I'll even run all three of the AC units just to make sure that in april they all work for our trip to florida in April.
Even with the rain forecast for Saturday it should be fun.
A buddy of mine owns the campground and he and I will crush a few beer cans on our foreheads.

Next week we will take it back to Bison Fleet to have the wheel lugs all retorqued and also to have them install one of these -

Got things loaded and ready

(Kinda)

We left about 3
Thruway was at a standstill
Musta been a heck of an accident

Got off at the 33 and took Union Rd to the 400.
Stop and go Friday traffic.
Now we are in Yorkshire Corners on 16.
Sopped in the plaza to grab a few small extension cords.
It’s running well so far

Emptying black water holding tank on a camper is time consuming.
I need to buy one of those tank spray wands.  The newer campers are plumbed with a shower spray system in the tank.

Challenger? Made in France?

I told the wife if we went this route it would be a motorhome like yours and not a pull trailer. I don't like how flimsy the pull trailers are and have seen my share of them blow off the road or loose control. They make a lot of pull type rec homes near me (Goshen, Elkhart, Middlebury) and they go past us all the time on delivery routes. I happened to be watching a guy near the house pulling one not pay attention and go off the road just a little and then lost control. Trailer ended up flipping on it's side and looked totaled to me.

Overall trip was beneficial.
The trip was a test run to make sure everything works as it should and that we have the supplies we need on it.
Other than canstant rain and forgetting the TV remote control, it was a decent little trip.

Here are the the items that need correction - we have a 4pm appt at Bison fleet later today -

Generator doesn't start.  It ran before they worked on it - so I'm sure it's something easy like a spark plug wire or fuel shut off valve.
Engine AC doesn't blow cold - nor does the Vent selection - I think the hot/cold biasing damper valve is stuck in yhot position.
Missing the positive cable lead on the two house batteries to complete the parallel connection - negative lead is there.

Everything else the replaced, updated, repaired, etc. was great.

I wish it didn't rain so hard.
We were right on the Alegheny River, maybe 15-20' from it.
I had some tied up salmon eggs and a dozen crawlers.
But Saturday morning it running really strong and muddy.
I left the poles in the basement storage of the motorhome and played scrabble with Donna.

I have named her “Princess Betty”.
After Donna’s mom.
Anyway, we got her all winterized this morning.
Went well actually.
She will sit in my boat’s spot for a few weeks plugged into the power here to keep things charged.
Bison Fleet is waiting for a heater/AC mixing valve to arrive in a few weeks.  Then we will take her there to have it installed.  Afterwards, she comes back out here for the winter until our trip to Florida in April.  The owner of the camp here said we can put her into the locked storage facility.  Safe and sound!
